YAGEO Group DC-DC Converters

YAGEO Group (YAGEO, KEMET, Pulse) strives to support 90% of all the passive technologies required in circuit designs. DC-DC converters saturate the electronics industry and are used to either step or step down the voltage and current requirements of the next stage in the circuit. In every variation of the DC-DC converter, current sense resistors, diodes, inductors, precision voltage resistors, and capacitors are used.

There are three typical DC-DC converter designs: SEPIC, buck-boost, and flyback. The SEPIC-type design stands for Single-Ended Primary Inductance Converter. The buck-boost style produces a range of output voltages that is adjusted by varying the pulse width modulation of the MOSFET.

Additionally, the flyback types are AC input converters traditionally used in digital architecture applications. They are unique because they can be sourced by either a DC or AC power supply, depending on the structure. Flyback types are similar to buck-boost converters but use the transformer to perform the magnetic functions of the circuit instead of an inductor.
