Mouser-Sponsored IndyCar Finishes Strong in Long Beach

KVSH Car Team Now Preparing for Grand Prix of Alabama

April 21, 2016 - A very determined Sebastien Bourdais showed what he is made of behind the wheel of the Mouser-sponsored KVSH No. 11 car at Sunday's Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in this year's Verizon IndyCar Series. The 37-year-old Frenchman finished ninth in a field of 21 drivers, having started in 14th place based on Saturday's qualifying round. The usually hectic 1.968-mile, 80-lap race ran green from start to finish for the first time in 27 years, helping Bourdais make up positions to score his second top-10 finish in the first three races of the 2016 season.

"The car was pretty good today," Bourdais said. "We made some big moves and passed six cars in total, moved up five positions. I am just proud of the guys. We just did a good job."

Mouser Electronics, Inc. is very pleased to once again be a major sponsor of the KVSH No. 11 car in this year's Verizon IndyCar Series in cooperation with valued supplier Molex.

The 2016 season marks the 21st season of the IndyCar Series and includes the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, set for May 29. The Mouser- and Molex-sponsored car won the Indianapolis 500 in 2013, and Bourdais' strong finish last year has increased hopes for an exciting racing season.

Bourdais earned two strong wins last season and finished tenth overall among 40 IndyCar drivers. At the 2016 season opener in St. Petersburg, Fla., Bourdais was knocked out in the 87th lap, but he rebounded at the next race in Phoenix, finishing a solid eighth in a field of 22 cars.

"Sebastien showed the kind of strength and fortitude that makes us at Mouser very proud to be a sponsor," said Todd McAtee, Mouser Electronics' Vice President of Business Development, Americas. "The precision and performance of the new technologies in high-speed racing continue to amaze us season after season. The IndyCar race provides the perfect vehicle to build top-of-mind awareness for Mouser's performance-driving business model and our manufacturer partner, Molex."

This weekend, the team travels to the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, set for April 24, followed by the Angie's List Grand Prix of Indianapolis on May 14, and the legendary Indianapolis 500 on May 29. Ten more races will follow, ending with the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma (Calif.) on September 18.
