Power Switches for USB Technology

USB Power Switches offer ON/OFF control, are used as current-limited switches for USB power and can include fault reporting capability. The new USB Power Delivery (USB -PD) standard, used in electronic devices and cables, promises to reduce clutter, provide unprecedented inter-operability, simplify docking, and provide much faster charging. However, to implement higher power delivery, a controller is needed to negotiate and implement USB-PD power profiles.
