NXP Semiconductors Kinetis KV3x Microcontrollers

NXP Semiconductors Kinetis KV3x Microcontrollers (MCUs) are high-performance solutions for BLDC, PMSM, and ACIM motor control applications. These NXP MCUs are built on the Arm® Cortex®-M4 core and runs at 100MHz/120MHz with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Floating Point Unit (FPU). The KV3x MCUs feature dual 16-bit ADCs with a sampling rate of up to 1.2MS/s, multiple control timers, and 64KB to 512KB flash memory.

Features

  • 100MHz/120MHz Cortex-M4 core with DSP and FPU
  • 2 x 16-bit ADCs with two capture and hold circuits and up to 1.2MS/s sample rate
  • Up to 2 x 8-channel and 2 x 2-channel programmable Flextimers
  • Up to 2 x 12-bit DAC and 2 x ACPMs (analog comparators)
  • 4- or 16-channel DMA reduces CPU loading for improved application performance
  • Dual watchdogs
  • Broad family scalability with hardware and software compatibility

Applications

  • Brushless direct current (BLDC) Motors
  • Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM)
  • 3-phase alternating current induction motors (ACIM)
