Texas Instruments TPS2661EVM Current Loop Protector Evaluation Module (EVM) allows reference circuit evaluation of TPS26611 and TPS26612 current-loop protectors. The Texas Instruments TPS2661 product is a 50V, universal (±20mA, 0mA to 20mA, 4mA to 20mA) current-loop protector with integrated fixed bipolar 30mA current limit and output overvoltage protection. The product provides protection against miswiring conditions on input/output and offers robust signal line protection in industrial and process automation systems.

  • Supports bidirectional current loops with 0V to ±50V operating range (with external VCC)
  • Fixed ILIMIT = ±30mA ±15%
  • Enable (EN) pin control
  • Part status reporting through SGOODb pin
  • Protection against input-side miswiring

    • One dual polarity regulated power supply (+15V, 0V, –15V) 500mA current limit
    • One source meter of 200mA, 50V rated
  • Loads
    • One decade resistance box or equivalent which can tolerate 50V and capable of the output short
  • Meters
    • One DMM minimum needed
  • Oscilloscope
    • A DPO2024 or equivalent
    • Three 10x voltage probes
    • DC current probe
