Texas Instruments BQ24810EVM Evaluation Module

Texas Instruments BQ24810EVM Evaluation Module is an evaluation system engineered for the BQ24810 IC. The TI BQ24810 buck-only battery charge controller has hybrid power boost mode, battery-only boost, and processor hot monitoring capability. The input voltage range is between 4.5V and 24V, with a programmable output of one to four cell charge voltages and 128mA to 8.128A charge currents.

Features

  • Hybrid power boost mode to power up the system from the adapter and the battery together
  • Battery only boost mode to support larger system transients and extend battery runtime
  • Peak power two-level input current limit to maximize the power from the adapter and minimize battery discharge
  • Supports charging a one- to four-cell battery pack from a 4.5V to 24V adapter
  • High-accuracy power and current monitoring for CPU throttling
  • Automatic NMOS/bidirectional GaN power source selection from adapter or battery
  • Programmable input current, charge voltage, charge and discharge current limit
  • 300kHz, 400kHz, 600kHz, and 800kHz switching frequency

Applications

  • Notebook, ultrabook, detachable, and tablet PC
  • Industrial and medical equipment
  • System with battery backup
  • Portable equipment
