Renesas Electronics RA4C1 Microcontrollers (MCUs)

Renesas Electronics RA4C1 Microcontrollers (MCUs) offer a low-power MCUs option with a focus on advanced security, making it ideal for applications such as metering or IoT devices. These MCUs offer operation down to 1.6V, support single-digit µA standby currents, and 80MHz CPU performance with an Arm® Cortex®-M33 core. The RA4C1 MCUs include advanced peripheral integration and advanced security features. The multiple SCI, I2C, and SPI interfaces make the RA4C1 MCUs suitable for smart communication applications. These MCUs are suitable for sensor hubs, security, access control systems, battery management systems, e-bikes, system control boards and power, water, and gas meters.

Features

  • 80MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 with 512KB dual bank flash, 96KB SRAM, and 8KB data flash
  • Active 168µA/MHz and standby 1.44µA (typical) with fast wake-up <3.5µS (from MOCO)
  • 64pin and 100pin LQFP packages
  • 12-bit ADC with 1% accurate temperature sensor
  • Segment LCD controller
  • Low-power timers and RTC with VRTC and tamper
  • Reduce system power consumption by low active/standby current with battery backup and fast recovery from the standby mode
  • Segment LCD controller
  • Advanced security functions secure the user's application and IP and provide support for the DLMS-COSEM security
  • CAN FD
  • LPUARTS, SCI (UART, Simple SPI, Simple I2C, and LIN), and SPI/ I2C / QSPI
  • Secure Crypto engine, to support AES, ECC, TRNG, GHASH, and key management
  • -40°C to 105°C operation supported
  • Reduce system cost by the integration of analog components as well as data flash, which can emulate an external EEPROM
  • Supported by Flexible Software Package (FSP) for easy application development

Applications

  • Utility meters such as power, water, and gas meters
  • Smart home automation products such as smart locks
  • security sensors and access control systems
  • Battery management systems
