Pulse Electronics High Isolation Ethernet Magnetic Transformers meet IEEE 802.3 specifications and feature a compact footprint for use in space-restrictive appliances. These transformers offer high isolation for robust applications that require more isolation than traditional LAN applications. They provide safety isolation of up to 6kV and are ideal for both industrial and medical applications. The transformers come with multiple options for working voltages, isolation voltages, and surge/impulse. Pulse Electronics High Isolation Ethernet Magnetic Transformers also meet functional, basic, supplementary, and reinforced insulation requirements. Typical applications include 2-phase and 3-phase electricity meters, battery management solutions, AC motor drives, MRI machines, CPAP machines, and dialysis equipment.

The HX1188ENL and HX1198ENL pulse transformers are extensions of the popular industrial range standard parts. These two products offer performance up to 125°C, the same temperature used in automotive Ethernet, but without the added AEC-Q200 and IATF 16949 production qualifications. This makes the transformers ideal for high-temperature industrial use, where ambient temperature can exceed 105°C, reducing the efficiency of any employed cooling solution. Applications are wide and can include internally mounted drives, motor controller boards, and controllers in enclosed dust/blast-proof casements. The HX1188ENL and HX1198ENL pulse transformers are compatible with existing designs and are supplied in tape and reel or tubes and are suitable for SMT processing with 245°C peak reflow temperature.
