Panasonic Electronic Components PAN4620 IEEE 802.15.4 & BLE 4.2 Module

Panasonic PAN4620 IEEE 802.15.4 and BLUETOOTH® 4.2 Low Energy (BLE) Module is a dual-mode Wireless Internet of Things (IoT) Module, based on the NXP Semiconductors Kinetis KW41Z SoC (System on Chip). The PAN4620 Module can be operated in stand-alone mode and hosted mode for maximum flexibility. With 512kB flash memory and 128kB SRAM, the PAN4620 can easily be used as a stand-alone controller eliminating the need for an external processor. However, also the integration of 802.15.4 and BLE connectivity into existing applications can easily be achieved when using the PAN4620 in hosted mode.

Using the Panasonic PAN4620 Module in combination with NXP’s certified Thread® stack, BLE stack, or a combination of both for concurrent operation allows applications to meet IoT requirements without the need for an external gateway. Since Thread does not define an application layer, various application layers can be used, such as dotdot, IoTivity, OpenDOF, and others.

With a surface mount footprint of only 15.6mm x 8.7mm, TX power consumption as low as 6.8mA, and RX power consumption as low as 6.1mA, the PAN4620 Module is ideal for compact, low-power IoT applications.
