Microchip Technology UTC2000 Basic USB Type-C™ Controller

Microchip Technology UTC2000 Basic USB Type-C™ Controller expands the capabilities of USB and features a new connector and simplified current capability marking. UTC2000 USB Type-C controller has a small, reversible form factor. The UTC2000 has elevated charging current abilities of a USB Type-C solution while minimally impacting overall port cost. This cost-effective, simple solution, allows for rapid migration of USB 2.0/3.0 legacy designs to a USB Type-C connector.

The UTC2000 controller is designed for USB 2.0/3.0 Downstream Facing Port (DFP) and Upstream Facing Port (UFP) applications. The controller performs all necessary detection and control required and Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) monitor USB Type-C receptacle CC1 and CC2 pins to detect various connection events.
