Infineon Technologies CDM10V 0-10V Dimming Interface IC

Infineon CDM10V 0-10V Dimming Interface IC is housed in a 6-pin SOT package and is ideal for various lighting dimming applications with space requirements on small PCBs. The Infineon IC can transmit analog voltage-based signals from a 0-10V dimmer or potentiometer to the dimming or PWM input of a lighting controller IC in the form of a current-based PWM signal to drive an external optocoupler.

The CDM10V replaces many components in a traditional solution and reduces BOM and PCB space. The device supports active and passive dimming and dim-to-off with PWM input possibility. The one-time-programming interface allows a wide range of configurations.

Features

  • Simple 0-10V design
  • CDM10V comes with default settings:
    • 5% minimum duty cycle
    • 1kHz PWM frequency
    • 200μA dimmer/resistor bias current
    • DIM-TO-OFF disabled
  • 11V to 25V input VCC range
  • Transparent PWM mode (PWM bypass mode in DIM-TO-OFF enabled mode)
  • Minimum variation from device to device
  • The simple one-time programmable option allows setting in a wide range:
    • 1%, 2%, 5%, 10% minimum duty cycle
    • 200Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz PWM output frequency
    • 50μA, 100μA, 200μA, 500μA dimmer/resistor bias current
    • DIM-TO-OFF disabled/enabled
  • Replaces many external components with a single chip, reducing BOM and PCB space

  • LED drivers needing 0-10V dimming circuits
  • Luminaires
  • Troffers
  • Downlights
  • Sconces
  • Undercabinet
  • Office lighting
  • Signage
  • Dali
