This notice describes the categories of personal information (PI) and sensitive personal information (SPI) that Mouser Electronics, Inc. (“Company”) collects from employees and potential employees, the purposes for which we use this information, and your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
- Internet or electronic network activity: browsing history, email communications, app usage. Retention: 3 years.
- Biometric information: fingerprint scans, wellness metrics. Retention: 1 year after employment ends.
- Employment-related information: job applications, background checks, compensation data. Retention: 7 years after employment ends.
- Education and certifications: degrees, licenses. Retention: 7 years after employment ends.
- Inferences from PI: analytics for HR purposes. Retention: 3 years.
We collect and process SPI such as Social Security numbers, biometric data, health data, and union membership. This information is used strictly for employment, benefits, and legal compliance purposes and is subject to additional safeguards. We do not use SPI to infer characteristics about you.
We collect PI and SPI to:
- Administer employment and benefits
- Ensure security and compliance
- Evaluate job performance and eligibility
- Conduct background checks
- Improve HR policies and programs
You have the right to:
- Know what PI we collect and how we use it
- Request deletion or correction of your PI
- Opt-out of sale or sharing of your PI
- Limit use of your SPI
- Non-retaliation for exercising your rights
If we use automated systems for employment decisions, you have the right to request information about how these systems work and to opt out of such processing where applicable.
We will honor opt-out requests and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals and provide clear confirmation indicators such as 'Opt-Out Request Honored' in your privacy settings.
All interfaces for exercising your rights will be designed to avoid dark patterns and ensure user-friendly consent.
We implement reasonable security measures and conduct regular risk assessments to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
To carry out the purposes outlined above, the Company may share information with third parties, such as background check vendors; benefit brokers, providers and administrators; third-party human resources, accounting/finance and information technology vendors; outside legal counsel; state or federal governmental agencies; and customers pursuant to contractual or established requirements. The Company may add to the categories of PI it collects and the purposes it uses PI. In that case, the Company will inform you.
